Hiking the Kalalau Trail: Our Packing List

Here’s a list of what we packed for our 2-day trek along the Nāpali Coast:

  • 2 hiking packs
  • 2 sets of trekking poles
  • a small pot to cook food in (I couldn’t find my origami pot, which is superior in every way)
  • dehydrated camping food
  • lots and lots of water (bring camelback)
  • rum, for possible pirates (per Alex)
  • Alex-on-a-Stick
  • an emergency pack
  • phones
  • a change of clothes (we decided to just do a change of shirts to keep things light, since we’d only be there overnight)
  • hiking boots and waterproof socks
  • sleeping pads
  • hats
  • a sunscreen stick
  • sleeping bags
  • cutlery
  • a LifeStraw
  • gas for cooking
  • BC powder
  • Ven-Ex anti-venom
  • sunglasses
  • a lighter
  • Delta-9 gummies, rolls, and a vape
  • a flashlight
  • Cliff Bars
  • biodegradable, eco-friendly body wash
  • wet wipes
  • a plastic bag for said wet wipes
  • a solar-powered bank for our phones

We’ll review what we did and did not end up using in a future post. Good luck!
